0 Best Honeymoon Getaway in Bermuda

Article view:

The other day, I was browsing a lot of travel destination sites to help my very dear childhood friend who is about getting married in the next 5 months for their Best Honeymoon Getaway. By the way, congratulation, Lucy. You made it hehehe... I know when she read this post, she is going to be very mad at me. Anyway, it was not my first intention doing this research for her, but since I am pretty much hooked with anything travel related, so here I was in front of computer helping her to find couples ideas for Lucy & Ted's honeymoon ideas. I was really surprise that it turn out to be that there are so many plenty choices and almost all of them are very attractive choices. However, I narrowed down my recommendations to them to few choices. Bermuda was one of the ideas that I pitched to them.

From wikipedia the word of honeymooon simply described as "the period just after the weeding when things are their sweetest". The reason of Bermuda is fitted as a spot for this moment are because that this place has perfect atmosphere from places to see, hotels, restaurants, beaches, peoples, etc. This place is also probably the most relaxing places you could choose for your first getaway as a newly married couples. Its legendary pink sands, flowery landscape, clear blue waters and powdery pink beaches sit just 600 miles off the coast of North Carolina.

As far as time to visit, you might want to consider for your timing. Beach season is running from month of May through October, with daytime temperatures in the mid-80s and evening temperatures in the 70s. However, on November through March, the temperature is mostly 60s and 70s. It is a bit too cool for the beach but great for outdoor activities, such as tennis, golf, and put-putting around.

What to do in Bermuda...

In Bermuda, there are plenty activities that you can do both for in doors and out doors. However, since this article to cover about Best Honeymoon Getaway, you might want to choose activities that somewhat a bit romantic for you and your couple. Here are some ideas that we recommended for you:
  1. Scuba Diving and Snorkeling

As far as fun things to do in Bermuda are concerned, it's hard to top scuba diving or snorkeling. Both are world class in Bermuda, and with qualified dive shops and scuba charters available, you can be off exploring a reef or a shipwreck in no time. You don't have to book a snorkeling charter to enjoy great snorkeling in Bermuda, however, as some of the best Bermuda beaches offer ideal conditions. Some Bermuda beaches, such as Tobacco Bay Beach, have water sports equipment concessions, and renting a mask, fins, and snorkel is pretty affordable. As for scuba diving, there may be no other dive destination in the world that is better for beginners than Bermuda. Funny thing is, it's just as ideal for experienced divers!

  2. Golfing in Bermuda

Mid Ocean Golf Club is considered one of the most beautiful and challenging golf courses in the world. However, there are more than half a dozen golf courses in Bermuda, and some even think that one of them is the best public golf course in the world. That's saying quite a bit. The Port Royal Golf Course is a beauty of a public course, and in case your game goes sour when playing it, you can at least enjoy some immaculate ocean views. All the Bermuda golf courses offer ocean views, and while some are relatively short and focus on shot-making, others are longer, eighteen-hole layouts that will likely see you using every club in the bag.

  3. Fishing

Much like Bermuda scuba diving and snorkeling, Bermuda fishing is world class. There are three main kinds of fishing that you can do in Bermuda, one of which is shore fishing. Since you don't need a permit or license to fish in Bermuda it can enjoyed as you please. Grouper, tuna, barracuda, bonefish, and blue marlin are just some of the possible catches of the day when you treat yourself to some Bermuda fishing. Charter a fishing boat to head out to sea, and you'll not only be enjoying Bermuda fishing, but also Bermuda fishing.

  4. Bermuda Spas

There are at least a handful of excellent spas to choose from in Bermuda, and since Bermuda vacations can take a lot out of you, a rejuvenating spa treatment can be just what the doctor ordered. The Fairmont Southampton and Cambridge Beaches are where you will find two of the best spas in Bermuda, and as for things to do in Bermuda, visiting a spa can be the most relaxing. Honeymooners are encouraged to look into romantic spa packages at the Bermuda resorts. Even just a facial and a quick massage can have you feeling like a million bucks. That why this has been targeted as favorite activity for Best Honeymoon Getaway.

  5. Festivals in Bermuda

Several amazing festivals take place on this beautiful island, including the four-day-long Bermuda Music Festival in October. This festival brings in performers from around the world. While the music festival is one of the most well-known events in Bermuda, events here range from live music to a culinary festival to sporting events, ensuring that any time of year there is a fun event or festival to add something extra to your trip.

  6. Raise a Tennis Racquet

The tiny island of Bermuda prides itself on having 80 tennis courts, making tennis one of its most popular land activities. Most of the large hotels have courts that are free for guests and available to others for a fee. Another option is the Government Tennis Stadium (aka. W.E.R. Joell Tennis Stadium) outside of Hamilton, a public facility with 3 clay courts and 5 Plexicushion courts. Many facilities require “proper tennis attire,” so be sure to pack your tennis whites.

  7. Rent a Scooter

Bermuda is as well known for its scooters as it is for its shorts. Renting mopeds (suitable for one person only) or scooters (which can accommodate two people) is a great way to get from place to place while enjoying the spectacular water views that appear at every twist and turn. (Another reason to tool around on two wheels is that visitors aren’t allowed to rent cars.) Rental companies such as Oleander Cycles and Eve’s Cycles will deliver scooters to your hotel. This is one of those activities where helmets are required. Note that driving is on the left and ever-increasing traffic and narrow, winding roads make this a pastime for those with an adventurous spirit.

  8. Make a Wish Under a Moon Gate

One of Bermuda's unique romantic activities is encountering a moon gate and pausing to kiss beneath it. The Palm Grove moon gate is located inside a private estate open to the public Monday through Thursday. This small plot of land features a pond, flower gardens, and most notably one of the many round Chinese moon gates that are sprinkled all over Bermuda. A popular spot for taking wedding photographs, it attracts brides, grooms, honeymooners, and other couples who believe that a wish made while standing at one is likely to come true. This place alone has very special meaning for newly wed to visit during their Best Honeymoon Getaway

  9. Picnic at Fort Hamilton

The tremendous stone fort on the outskirts of Hamilton, surrounded by a dry moat, was built in the 1860. Today it’s a peaceful, grassy place to enjoy the views and explore the tunnels that still remain. If one of your favorite activities is dining al fresco, ask your hotel to pack a gourmet basket and linger over a picnic for two.

  10. Boat ride to the stars

The beauty of Bermuda lies in its intimacy, which is why many celebrities look for a home on the island. Hope a boat ride to the outskirts of the island and take a glimpse of the famous homes of the stars including Ross Perot, David Bowie and his wife Iman, and Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones. While you're out and about, tuck into a few of the hidden coves and awe at the homes and boats of Bermuda's wealthiest residents. Why? Because you can.
